1460 punters turned up at Deathnote arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. UNITED decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Månsson - Devos, Artime, Sinisterra Pinilla, Frank - Kudji, Razi, Dujšin, Peschorn - Davidsson, Cesário.
Cool decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The following players took the field: Palm - Nahumaruri, Giachello, Tyc - Morales, Berkien, Fuchs-Kubicek, Schillaci - Salman, Lepore, Smolčić.
UNITED used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Cool seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 16 minutes, Cool's Ciro Lepore made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Jurica Razi charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equalizer for UNITED, but the shot went well wide of the goal. Igor Dujšin was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was perfectly redirected by Nurman Frank, but the ball went into the frame. Stefan Davidsson pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, after 38 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Cool's Djarot Nahumaruri a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 39 minutes into the game. Unfortunately for UNITED, Magnus Månsson was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. László Major replaced him. Cool took the lead 42 minutes into the game, scoring the 1 - 2 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Ciro Lepore was the scorer. UNITED's Bakti Kudji was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 42 minutes. UNITED's Jurica Razi made a successful breakthrough on the left after 43 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. Halftime score was 1 - 2. This half belonged to UNITED, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.
Cool's Andrea Schillaci wanted to play on, but 46 minutes into the game the decision was made to substitute him for Wisis Gnagey. 51 minutes in, and UNITED was able to score the equalising 2 - 2 goal when Stefan Davidsson picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. UNITED had a chance to take the lead on Igor Dujšin's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled away as his shot went just over the bar after 71 minutes. After a fine move down the middle Alfonso Artime nearly gave the home side a goal after 84 minutes. The finishing shot went just wide, though. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by Bakti Kudji rendered him his second booking of the match, and UNITED had to finish the game with a reduced squad.
